About the Author
Rosemarie Tong is distinguished Professor of Health Care Ethics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is the author or co-author of Women, Sex, and the Law; Ethics in Policy Analysis; Feminist Thought: A Comprehensive Introduction; Feminine and Feminist Ethics; Controlling Our Reproductive Destiny: A Technological and Philosophical Perspective (with Lawrence Kaplan); Feminist Approaches to Bioethics;and Feminist Thought: A More Comprehensive Introduction. Silly pedant

Feminist author includes [SIC] in quotes of Greek and Roman classic writers when they refer to man (as in man kind). One would hope that silly post modernism would not seek to rewrite history and hopefully scholarly student would not need be reminded of the recognition of women's role today. Would Tong seek to refer to ships as He/She or IT instead of the traditional reference of female? And does she interject [SIC] where reference to Mother Earth?
Her political views are evident without her explicit comments of her position and make the book a little sophomoric at one level despite here apparent control of the material.
The book is a good text and despite my complaint and is scholarly and erudite.

Required text, not a keeper

Bought this as a required text. Describes different ethical styles but not in great depth. As I recall during course work I referenced less then 10 pages consistently. Basic overview of medical ethics. Buy it, use it for the course, then list it as used on Amazon.com
