good, but not excellent

This 7th grade Eastern Hemisphere textbook is pretty good. The chapters are well divided, pictures and maps have interesting information, but frankly my 7th-grader finds it quite boring. I have the teacher's edition as well, but without the myriad of other materials available to "school teachers" it's hard to make this topic exciting for a 7th-grader. We are using it because we are only homeschooling for a year and I wanted my son to cover the same material that his peers at school are covering to make his reintegration into public school go smoothly. However, if I were going to be homeschooling long-term, I definitely would NOT use this book! There are other, more exciting history books out there.
